I
started off learning how to subculture 'Grand Nain' bananas available as sterile cultures
in Dr. Richard
Litz's Cellular Developmental Botany Lab here at TREC. Under the supervision of
Pam Moon, I was able to learn the techniques of micropropagation, and develop the aseptic
practices needed for successful
multiplication of bananas. I
developed this project as means to receive the elective credits I needed
for my B.F.A. degree from F.I.U.
(Florida International University).
While doing my research here at TREC, I posted my results over the
internet for Professor David Lee. |
