Another week of mango pictures will hopefully remind some that mango season is quickly disappearing for another year.  One thing I've enjoyed about this project is learning about mango cultivars history.  It's very interesting to here the stories of how particular cultivars made their way (as seedlings) from people's backyards to the commercial market.  One of my favorites is Glenn,  "which is a seedling of Haden planted on the property of Mr. Roscoe E. Glenn, Miami, Fl.  The seed was planted in 1940 and first fruited in 1945" (A Guide To Mangos in Florida p60).
